A very appealing blend of these lesser known white grape varieties. 85% Marsanne and 15% Viognier, the wine is full bodied and soft with great weight and balance.
These varieties come from the Rhone Valley in Southern France. Rarely seen together in traditional Rhone blends, they work very well together, each bringing its own unique characters to the combination. Marsanne has firm structure with pear and quince flavours, and Viognier is intensely aromatic with characters of apricot and honeysuckle
The winemaking is all about maximising the freshness and full fruit full flavours of the wine by keeping the fruit and juice cool during crushing and fermentation. The two varieties were crushed and fermented separately then blended before bottling.
This wine will really come into its own with food. The full flavours and texture, balanced with refreshing acidity, allow it to match perfectly with seared tuna salad or perhaps a range of tapas style dishes.
